Missouri Housing Industry Alliance

Charter and By-Laws

 

1.      Name:  Missouri Housing Industry Alliance.

 

2.      Legal Status:  Unincorporated Association.

 

3.      Purposes:

 

a.      Mutual consultation and education.

 

b.      Coalitions for legislation that affect the housing industry.

 

c.      Cooperation on writing and distribution of publications.

 

4.      Membership representation:  Each Member organization shall designate one delegate and one alternate, and both may attend all meetings.

 

5.      Membership dues shall be $200.00 per member organization.

 

6.      Additional Members:  The Alliance may invite additional organizations in the housing industry to join as Members.

 

7.      Meetings:  The Alliance shall meet quarterly, in January, April, July, and October.

 

8.      Officers:  The January meeting shall elect a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, who shall have the customary duties of those offices.

 

9.      Decision-making:  All policy decisions shall come from a consensus, and procedural decisions from a majority vote of Members.  Procedural decisions shall include amendment of the Charter and Bylaws, dues, meeting schedule, election of officers, and admission of new Members.  A majority of Members shall constitute a quorum.

 

10.The President shall conduct the meetings according to Robert's "Rules of Order."

 

11.Missouri Association of REALTORSâ shall act as trustee for dues and other funds of the Alliance.

 

12.Amendments:  The Members may amend this document at any meeting if the Secretary has mailed the Agenda and the proposed text of the amendment at least 15 days before the meeting.
